២៣ មិថុនា ២០១៩ / 23 June 2019 – Fatal collapse of a building in Sihanoukville (*)

ខ្ញុំសូមចូលរួមមរណទុក្ខ ជាមួយក្រុមគ្រួសារជនរងគ្រោះ ក្នុងអគារ ៧ ជាន់ ដែលកំពុងតែសាងសង់ នៅក្រុងព្រះសីហនុ ហើយដែលទើបតែរលំ បណ្តាលឲ្យកម្មករសំណង់យ៉ាងតិច ១៨ នាក់ បាត់បង់ជីវិត។ លោកអភិបាលក្រុងព្រះសីហនុ បានទទួលស្គាល់ថា អគារនេះ មិនមានលិខិតអនុញ្ញាតិឲ្យសាងសង់ទេ។ 
គ្រោះមហន្តរាយនេះ បណ្តាលមកពីអំពើពុករលួយ ការព្រងើយកន្តើយ និងស្មារតីមិនទទួលខុសត្រូវ របស់ថ្នាក់ដឹកនាំប្រទេសយើងសព្វថ្ងៃ។ នេះគ្រាន់តែជាសញ្ញាមួយ ដែលយើងទើបតែមើលឃើញទាំងអស់គ្នា តែមិនដឹងថា តើមានអគារបែបនេះ ប៉ុន្មានខ្នងទៀត ដែលកំពុងតែសាងសង់ដែរ ឬគ៏ត្រូវបានសាងសង់រួចហើយ ដោយមិនមានលិខិតអនុញ្ញាតិ ហើយដោយមិនបានទទួលការត្រួតពិនិត្យអ្វីឡើយ ចំពោះស្តង់ដារបច្ចេកទេស និងសុវត្ថិភាព។
នៅប្រទេសកម្ពុជាសព្វថ្ងៃ មនុស្សខិលខូច ចង់ធ្វើអ្វីក៏បានដែរ ឲ្យតែមានលុយ។ របបពុករលួយ ដឹកនាំដោយ ហ៊ុន សែន គឺជាគ្រោះថ្នាក់សាធារណៈ សម្រាប់ប្រជារាស្ត្រខ្មែរទាំងមូល។

(*) My condolences go to the families of the victims of the collapsed building under construction in Sihanoukville which has killed at least 18 people. The governor of Sihanoukville has acknowledged that there was no construction permit for the building.
The disaster is a result of the corruption, negligence and irresponsibility of Cambodia’s current rulers. It is the tip of the iceberg in that there is no way to know how many other buildings lack construction permits and the most basic supervision and security. 
The fact is that money talks in Cambodia. The corrupt government of Hun Sen is a danger to the public.
