Thank you to French President Emmanuel Macron for having received the Cambodian 'Papa Doc' and 'Baby Doc' successively in 2022 and 2024, and for the assassinations they committed after receiving the Élysée's blessing.

The latest victim, Lim Kimya, was an opponent, a former MP with dual Franco-Cambodian nationality. He was assassinated in broad daylight in Bangkok on January 7, 2025, in front of his wife, a French-born woman. The previous victim was journalist Chhoeung Chheng, who succumbed to his injuries on December 7, 2024, after being shot while investigating an illegal deforestation case. Deforestation is a major source of the immense wealth of Cambodia's current leaders.

Dozens of opponents or civil society members have been arrested and imprisoned over the past two years, continually increasing the number of prisoners of conscience. Meanwhile, countless other citizens critical of the regime are beaten daily in the streets by the henchmen of Hun Sen and his son, Hun Manet. The political dynasty that Hun Sen seeks to establish is reminiscent of Haiti’s Duvalier dynasty, with Papa Doc and Baby Doc, not to mention another dynasty still in power in North Korea.

To Cambodians, Emmanuel Macron, through his recklessness and lack of seriousness, has tarnished the image of France as a beacon of Enlightenment and Human Rights.
