ភាពអាសន្ន ដែល ហ៊ុន សែន ចង់ប្រកាស ជាគ្រោះថ្នាក់មួយទៀត សម្រាប់កម្ពុជា។
ភាពអាសន្ននេះ គ្មានបានប្រយោជន៍អ្វីទេ វាគ្រាន់តែឆ្លុះបញ្ចាំងភាពស្លន់ស្លោរបស់ ហ៊ុន សែន ដែលភ័យខ្លាច បាត់បង់អំណាច ពេលជំងឺ កូវីដ-១៩ កំពុងតែរាតត្បាត។ បំណងពិតរបស់ ហ៊ុន សែន គឺរឹតត្បិតសិទ្ធិសេរីភាព ក្នុងការសម្តែងមតិ របស់ប្រជារាស្រ្តខ្មែរ ថែមទៀត រហូតដល់បិទទំព័រ Facebook របស់អ្នកដែលនិយាយការពិត ហើយផ្តល់គំនិតល្អៗ ជួយប្រជារាស្រ្តខ្មែរ។ ភាពអាសន្ននេះ នឹងធ្វើឲ្យពលរដ្ឋខ្មែរ ស្លាប់កាន់តែច្រើនថែមទៀត ពីព្រោះលោកមិនអាចទទួលបានព័ត៌មានត្រឹមត្រូវ មានតែព័ត៌មានលម្អៀង និងព័ត៌មានភូតភរ ពីរបប ហ៊ុន សែន ដែលប៉ុនប៉ងបិទបាំងការពិត។

What's Behind the State of Emergency that Hun Sen Will Proclaim in Cambodia?

1- Hun Sen wants to use the pretext of COVID-19 to further reinforce his already extensive powers, like Viktor Orban in Hungary, another worrying example of totalitarian drift. Hun Sen's purpose is not to better combat COVID-19 but to better defend his regime, threatened by the uncertainties that COVID-19 brings. Intensified repression is to be expected.

2- Hun Sen is notably looking for a pretext to completely silence the few remaining voices which dare to denounce his regime and highlight the deficiencies of his chaotic management of the country. As a consequence the struggle against COVID-19 will be weakened rather than strengthened because in the current circumstances the country, more than ever, needs transparency and freedom of expression. In proclaiming a state of emergency Hun Sen is seeking in particular to prevent the population from having access to certain Facebook pages which are critical of him, such as that of Sam Rainsy, which has 5 million followers. His Chinese allies and protectors, skilled in the dark arts of censorship, will help Hun Sen to do it.

3- Hun Sen has no credibility to lead the fight against COVID-19 having made the ridiculous prediction in a speech on 18 February that the epidemic would only reach Cambodia on 31 February, meaning never. But never is here already. Hun Sen -- never one to acknowledge his mistakes -- wants to save face through further violence.
